Walking with Aristotle is a musical odyssey that revives the wisdom of “The First Teacher” through the soulful sounds of the Levant. Linking the Greek peripatetic tradition with the Arab Golden Age that preserved it, the album turns the Nicomachean Ethics and Politics into a living tapestry of sound. The tracks move from introspective to communal, merging the ecstatic peaks of Tarab with the grounded energy of Lebanese folk. Muwashahat rhythms shape the album’s more reflective moments, echoing Aristotle’s search for balanced virtue. Acoustic guitar, Oud, and Qanun weave a dialogue between West and East, connecting centuries of thought. In its livelier passages, lyrics shift into Zajal—semi-improvised, witty debates on the “Political Animal” over driving beats. The Mejwiz’s cry and the stomp of Dabke pull Aristotle’s ideas of community and friendship into the village square.
