Islanders

Islanders is the outcome of FINKEL retreating home to Mackinac Island, MI in the early winter of 2021 to rediscover themselves, and more specifically, where they came from. The album incorporates sound samples from the natural environment; sticks snapping, waves crashing, Island wildlife, ice forming and cracking, etc.. It also uses sounds from the only means of transportation on Mackinac Island; snowmobiles, ferry boats, horses, and 6 seater airplanes. FINKEL conducted interviews with citizens of Mackinac Island, a pool of a fluctuating 500 local populous, to collect lyrical themes for the record. Islanders is for anyone who wants to get to know Mackinac Island from the inside out, and witness a creation born from complete immersion in one of the most unique communities in the world. smarturl.it/finkel_islanders
