Bon Iver - Holocene (Silk Static Flip)

This song means sooooo much to me, as I'm sure it does to a lot of you. Back in April, I came across the actual studio stems, and was insanely excited to play around with them. I knew I wanted to keep the bones of the song the same, but just beef it up to make it something I could include in my sets. I feel like most of my favourite remixes don't re-invent the song, but instead give the core idea a new context I used almost all of the studio stems, and carefully layered them with my own sound design. The bass, for example, is the bass guitar from the original, but I took the time to match MIDI to it so I could layer it with Serum. Easier said than done, since the bass performance is somewhat loose in the original. I did this with almost every instrument, and it wound up being a densely layered project. As you can imagine, it was a bit of a nightmare to mix, but I'm really proud of how it turned out
