“Home Away From Home” came from watching winter settle over the Five College community and noticing who stays when many others leave. For international students, this part of the year can feel especially long and quiet. The song reflects on small moments that make the distance easier to carry. Music shared in a hall, food made from memory, and spaces where no one has to explain themselves. It is not about fixing winter, only about how people quietly help each other through it.
