“A List Of Questions” grew out of a long letter written by North Amherst neighbors responding to a proposed large apartment development on former farmland along Route 63. I turned their concerns into a folk song not to argue or inflame, but to slow things down and give space for listening. Folk music has always been a place where ordinary people ask careful questions about land, water, roads, costs, and what gets changed forever once the trucks arrive. This song follows the full arc of that story, from zoning and wetlands to traffic, schools, taxes, and the simple desire to respect a place that already has a life of its own.
