Born in the Andalusian town of Utrera, the spiritual cradle of cante jondo, this album is a co-authored project between two great artists: 🎸 Maestro Ramón Priego, an acclaimed flamenco guitarist from Utrera whose deep, expressive recordings form the original musical foundation of this work, and 🎼 Prof. Manuel Gago Fernández, also from Utrera, who developed the composition, orchestration, and symphonic design around those authentic guitar materials. Together, they have created a new musical form — a dialogue between the sacred and the human, between the church procession and the flamenco street cry, between brass and guitar, faith and art. 🔹 About the Music Each piece in Saetas del Alma represents a moment in the emotional and spiritual journey of the Semana Santa of Seville — from the intimate silence of the early dawn to the blazing triumph of the Resurrection. The music combines: Full symphonic brass band (cornets, trombones, horns, tuba, woodwinds) Traditional war-drum cadence and snare processional rhythms Flamenco guitar (performed in the expressive style of Ramón Priego: tremolos, arpeggios, and rasgueados of deep feeling) Flamenco voice (written for the jondo and emotional style of Dani de Utrera, who embodies the soul of the Andalusian saeta) The result is both ancient and modern — a sacred procession heard through the language of flamenco, with echoes of brass, incense, and candlelight, captured in contemporary orchestral sound. 🔹 Artistic Intention This album is not only a musical composition — it is a devotional act, a sonic prayer. Each track seeks to awaken the listener’s inner emotion and connection to tradition, faith, and the profound silence that lives in Andalusian art. In these marches, the guitar of Ramón Priego breathes devotion, the orchestration of Manuel Gago gives it wings, and the voice of Dani de Utrera turns pain into song.
