Hakana (Yumi Iwaki & Kasson Crooker)

"Hakana" is an ambient collaboration between Japanese modular artist Yumi Iwaki and koto/modular artist Kasson Crooker. The two met at Synthplex in LA where they both performed and agreed that a fusing of their unique styles would beget something wonderful. Yumi first created lush beds of synths and processed samples, with Kasson then performing the traditional Japanese koto heavily processed through modulars. Yumi's spoken word poetry blends the idea of 果てない (hatenai / endless) with 儚い (hakanai / fleeting). Follow Yumi here: https://www.instagram.com/iwakiyumi/
