Bás Poiblí follows the moment the king turns absence into a weapon. The Castaway has vanished, his name moving through the city while searches, raids and arrests tighten around anyone suspected of helping him. Then the threat becomes public: the woman he loves will be tried and executed before the crowd, not only as punishment, but as bait. Hidden from view, he learns what the king intends. Others urge him to stay concealed, knowing the trap is obvious. He goes anyway. The song lives in that space before confrontation — repression spreading through the streets, fear hardening into spectacle, and one decision that makes remaining hidden impossible. Related perspectives: No Victory! shows the king believing the trap is complete, while The Reckoning reveals why the public scene he planned never happens.
