This song grew out of a real discovery in County Wicklow, land my family walked long before archaeology gave it language. The lyrics circle an early Irish settlement that predates our modern idea of cities, built with fire, water, shared space, and care. I approached it the old way, letting the story lead and trusting ancient modes to carry modern hope. Fiddle lines follow the rings in the hillside, and the bodhran keeps time like a heartbeat under stone. This is not a history lesson so much as a listening exercise. The ground remembers, and sometimes music helps us hear it.
