In creating this orchestral piece I wanted to use elements of conflict and drama, and drew on an experience from my past. When I was a teenager, my extended family was torn apart by a disagreement between my Mother and her best friend. The breakup sent shockwaves through the generations and caused many battles between individuals, rupturing relationships that were once harmonious and supportive. The conflict was a deep learning experience for me, and writing this piece was a way of processing the trauma of those years. Written, performed, produced and mixed by David Mackenzie.
