King James Lee, Brandy X - Break The Disco (Extended Mix)

House music clubs are something else; we've lost count of the incredible experiences and fun times they've been responsible for. Occasionally, though, they don't deliver. Sometimes, it's no one's fault (perhaps a German club that is so popular that people queue for hours, and many don't get in 😂). Other times, people and places let the side down. That was the inspiration for this song. The artist behind the track is London DJ and co-creator of the capital's Roast events, King James Lee. He and trans artist Brandy X began crafting "Break The Disco" after they both experienced a struggle for acceptance in certain clubs. The empowering lyrics do not miss ("Walking in my shoes from here to there; I'll be loving myself, so don't you dare"), and Brandy's delivery could not be better. Her stunning vocals strut on top of Lee's tech-house thumper with the kind of catwalk energy and red-carpet chic that make this a future LGBT anthem in the making.
