MARGOT - Joaquín Turina Pérez (1914) Cover by Prof. Manuel GAGO

Semana Santa 2026 Volumen I by Prof. Manuel Gago Fernández is a monumental Andalusian symphonic journey inspired by the sacred sound world of Joaquín Turina Pérez (1882–1949) — particularly his Marcha Fúnebre a Nuestro Padre Jesús de la Pasión (1899) and the Marcha Fúnebre de Margot (1914). These two masterpieces, filled with Andalusian devotion and romantic orchestral color, serve as the emotional and structural foundation of this contemporary Flamenco Symphonic work. The playlist unfolds across four great liturgical cycles — Funeral Night, Morning of Light, Nocturnal Reflection, and Glorious Resurrection — recreating the sonic and emotional landscape of Andalusia’s Holy Week. It portrays the sacred processions of Seville: the scent of incense, the gleam of lanterns, the solemn rhythm of drums, and the echo of cornet calls resonating against stone walls. Scored exclusively for concert wind band, cornet corps, and military percussion, the music preserves the authentic timbre of Andalusian processional tradition, transforming Turina’s late-Romantic idiom into a modern cinematic and spatial experience. Phrygian harmonies, sacred counterpoint, and symphonic dynamics intertwine to express sorrow, faith, and transcendence without the use of guitar or piano — the pure essence of the Andalusian brass soul. This work stands as both a tribute and a rebirth: a 21st-century continuation of Turina’s legacy, reimagining the devotional grandeur of his marches within the frame of Flamenco Symphonism. Semana Santa 2026 is not merely an album; it is a spiritual fresco in sound — the living echo of faith, passion, and Andalusian eternity. #SemanaSanta2026 #ProfManuelGagoFernandez #JoaquinTurina #MarchaFunebreDeMargot #JesusDeLaPasion #FlamencoSymphonic #AndalusianSacredMusic #HolyWeekSound #CinematicAndalusian #SymphonicProcession #CornetAndDrumCorps #AndalusianSoul #SpanishRomanticism #SevilleHolyWeek #FlamencoWithoutGuitar #SacredOrchestration #PhrygianHarmony #AndalusianHeritage #SemanaSantaMusic #SymphonicDevotion #FlamencoSinfónico
