SILVER KISSES, DIAMOND LIES We all have parts of ourselves that we keep hidden, don't we? Sometimes it's because we're embarrassed, sometimes it's because we've been hurt, and sometimes it's simply because keeping certain things private makes us feel more comfortable in our own skin. Personally, I'm pretty much an open book! LOL. There aren't many things about myself that I wouldn't share. I've done plenty of stupid things in my life, and sure, some of them are a little embarrassing, but I'm not so ashamed that I feel the need to hide them. They're part of my story, and I've learned from them. But not everybody feels that way, and that's perfectly okay! Some people have been through things that have left scars. Some have made mistakes they're still trying to forgive themselves for, and others have been hurt so badly by people or circumstances that they've learned to protect certain parts of who they are. And you know what? That's their business. Nobody owes the world every detail of their life. Nobody should have to expose their deepest wounds just to prove they're being genuine. That's what "Silver Kisses, Diamond Lies" is about. It's not a song about people being fake or dishonest. It's about the things we do to protect ourselves, the different versions of ourselves we sometimes show the world, and the ways we learn to survive the damage we've done to ourselves or that others have done to us. Sometimes hiding something isn't about deception. Sometimes it's about survival, comfort, and feeling safe enough to simply exist. And I think there's something very human about that. Now, the music video is absolutely stunning! Not every clip is ultra-realistic, but the imagery is incredibly creative. The animations are beautiful, strange, a little eerie, and even slightly frightening at times. There's something mysterious and almost haunting about the whole thing, and I really love how it turned out!
