WHEN DID WE GET SO COLD? "When Did We Get So Cold?" is a song about the world we live in today and how I feel like we're slowly losing something incredibly important: kindness, compassion, and our connection to one another. I feel like so many people have become obsessed with appearances, reputations, and how they're perceived, while becoming more and more disconnected from their emotions and from each other. Now, I'm not saying everybody is like that. There are absolutely still wonderful, kindhearted people in this world, and I know that firsthand. Kindness hasn't disappeared. I just don't think we see nearly enough of it anymore. And honestly, I think a lot of it comes from how difficult life has become. Look at the cost of living! Rent is absolutely ridiculous. People practically have to work two jobs just to afford an apartment, and don't even get me started on groceries! It feels like everything keeps getting more expensive while life just keeps getting harder. And the harder life gets, the colder people seem to become. People are exhausted. They're stressed, frustrated, financially struggling, emotionally drained, and carrying around years of hurt and disappointment. Some people have been through so much that they've practically shut themselves off from the world. And I understand that. I really do. But I also think life is already difficult enough without us making it harder on each other. Having worked in customer service, I've seen just how distant people can be. Sometimes it's like they're not even there emotionally. They're so caught up in their own problems that they forget there's another human being standing right in front of them. I just wish we could all be a little kinder to each other. That's really what this song is about. It's not about blaming anybody or pretending the world is all bad. It's about asking ourselves what happened to that warmth, that compassion, and that simple willingness to care about another person. Because it's still here. I know it is. I just wish there were more of it. As for the music video, I think this one turned out absolutely beautiful! It's a strange combination of whimsical imagery, unconventional couture, surreal creativity, and ultra-realistic AI photography. It's emotional, visually unusual, and something I'm genuinely proud of creating. I really hope you'll take a few minutes to watch it.
