This is a draft of a song that has undergone several iterations. It was once titled, "The Speech, and had a totally different direction that this version, although pivoting off a majority of the lyrics that are still being used. The song is for people that are battling drug addiction, and need a song that might relate or directly talk to them about it. I think the message is quite clear. I can only write about this because I know what it's like to mask pain with substances. I know for a fact that if you don't figure out how to deal with it, then that "trance" isn't going to ruin your life. A lot of the time, people turn to drugs because no one is listening - I state that very clearly too, and is perhaps the one thing I wanted to convey more than anything. I have lost family to drugs, and I can say this: if they don't want help... then just try to listen when you can.
