B4/7. You Left behind a Kite (Broadway). ISRC-CB-GWT-26-00279

[FEMALE — READING] You left me a letter. (F) You left behind a kite. (F) I read the letter once. (F) Then twice. (F) The words were heavy in my hands. (M) I wanted to tear the paper up, To make you stay, To make you understand. But somewhere underneath the hurt, (F) I knew exactly what you meant. (F) [BOTH] Some love is not a door we enter. Some love is a door we close. (F) [FEMALE] You were the kite I held so tightly, (F) Afraid to let you touch the sky. (F) [MALE] And I was the hand That had to loosen. [FEMALE] So I let you fly. (F) [BOTH — BUILDING] Go where the wind will carry you. Go where your dreams begin. (F) The road is yours. The sky is wide. And I won't hold you in. (M) [MALE] Maybe ten years will tell the story. (M) [FEMALE] Maybe ten years will change our lives. (F) [MALE] Maybe this was only one summer. (M) [FEMALE] Maybe it was the moment we survived. (F) [BOTH — QUIETER] The fortune was a hologram. (F) The temple was a hiding place. (F) The ocean took us under— (F) Then brought us face to face. (F) No kingdom in the sky. (M) No promise carved in stone. (M) Just one beautiful mistake (F) We carried home alone. (F) [FEMALE] The summer rain came down that evening. (F) It washed our footprints from the shore. (F) [MALE] I watched you disappear behind me. (M) [FEMALE] And I watched you walk toward something more. (F) [BRIDGE — MALE] Paper too short for all I feel, (M) Words too small for what was real. (M) [FEMALE] No need to speak. (F) I understand. (M) [MALE] I have to leave. (F) [FEMALE] Then take my hand. (F) [BOTH — FINAL BUILD] For one last moment, (F) Stay with me. (F) For one last moment, (M) Let us be. (F) No vows to make. (F) No future planned. (F) Just this one breath. (F) Just this one hand. (F) [MALE — SOFT] That one mistake… (M) [FEMALE] That beautiful mistake… (F) [MALE] Was more than I deserved. (M) [BOTH — FINAL] The kite is flying. (F) The door is closed. (M) The kite is flying.. (F). The door is closed. (M)
