Decadence, Epic music. At a conference in 2019, three years before the Russo-Ukrainian crisis, French President Emmanuel Macron said: "We are undoubtedly experiencing the end of Western hegemony over the world. We had become accustomed to an international order that since the 18th century had been based on a Western hegemony, presumably French in the 18th century, by the inspiration of the Age of Enlightement; probably British in the 19th thanks to the Industrial Revolution and reasonably American in the 20th thanks to the 2 major conflicts and the economic and political domination of this power. Things are changing." Will Europe once again face the "peril of the century"? The choir represents the peoples who are witnesses and victims of history throughout wars/conflict in Europe and over the world. This work is written in a requiem and epic style inspired by Mozart's Dies irae.
