Salt and Flame

Salt and Flame tells the life behind one of the cycle’s central figures. From a restless childhood on the coast to a foreign city, first love, friendship and war, the album follows the future companion as she repeatedly refuses the roles others try to give her. Her story runs beside the Castaway’s without becoming secondary to it. She learns through work, movement, loss and choice; recognizes the fire in him before he understands it himself; survives capture; and eventually helps shape a rebellion larger than either of them intended. At its heart, Salt and Flame is about belonging without surrendering freedom — and about a woman who does not wait for history to make room for her, but steps into it and changes its course.
