Ritual-84 Polar Circle, 86 Streaming: https://rtvarchive.github.io/ritual84.html "The landscape itself performs the ritual" This playlist presents recordings from the “Polar Circle, 86” cycle, discovered within archival materials attributed to the collective “RITUAL-84.” According to accompanying notes, the recordings belong to a presumed northern phase of the project and are dated to 1986, though their origin remains unverified. Unlike “Summer Expedition,” this cycle shifts focus from human ritual to the Arctic landscape. The sound is built from yoiks, ritual chants, flute and jaw harp, and field recordings of tundra and ice. In several fragments, ritual is described as a process involving not only humans, but the environment itself: wind, ice, and silence become active participants. Materials are published progressively as restoration continues. Tracklist: • Frost • Crust • Traces • Breath • Polynya • Pressure Ridges • Aurora • Catch • Silence Disclaimer: A work of fiction.
