Memory And Echo is a solo, independent, multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer from the UK. A self-taught musician and guitarist of 30 years, I write, compose, perform, record, mix & produce, and create all visual content. I play guitar, bass, piano/synthesiser and drums, use Ableton to mix/master and After Effects for editing/visuals. I don't use AI for any of my creative or artistic work. Combining guitar-driven rock, progressive rock, synthesised and experimental elements, "Circles" is the first part of resurrecting music I originally wrote between 1998 and 2006, revisiting ideas that remained dormant for decades. Songs which were originally captured as short, low quality recordings or hastily-written tablature; now recreated and recorded anew using skills, equipment and experience I have acquired over the 25 years since. My inspiration draws from alternative rock, progressive rock and guitar-driven grunge, combining live instrumentation with synthesised electronic and experimental elements. The music video for Circles explores these ideas through distorted waveforms, geometric structures, analogue interference and shifting representations of sound moving between analog and digital. As a project, Memory And Echo consists of revisiting music I wrote between 1998 and 2006 - around 50 songs that have survived as rough demos, cassette recordings, tablature & memories. In both artist & project terms, 'Memory And Echo' literally represents the Memory of these songs; pieces that were created yet laid dormant for decades - and the Echo of them being brought to life now. M.A.E is an audiovisual experiment, a snapshot during a time of prolific songwriting in my life and a therapeutic outlet for me during a time when I need it the most.
