San Diego producer & unmistakable vocalist Estella Dawn addresses reflection & overcoming, with the warmth & well-wishes of ‘California’. Recapturing the essence of evocative pop, with a catchy hook and relatable lyrics of separation, the latest single from New Zealand-born creative Estella Dawn blends humility and heart. ‘California’ looks ahead with optimism and kindness - a refreshing take on heartbreak, with a dreamy sense of gratitude to the artwork, production, melody and softly spoken delivery. Employing acoustic pop tones akin to Alec Benjamin, Chelsea Cutler and Ashe, gentle guitar meets a simple clap rhythm, evolving into layers of color and warmth as per the sunny sentiments of ‘California’. A humble performance from Estella, with roots firmly planted amidst the emotions and images of the writing. Once again, no style is out of reach, and no concept too raw to handle, for indie’s most distinct and unpredictable Pop troubadour.
